Why Cashmere from Nepal?

Cashmere is a superfine, soft fibre combed from the undercoats of cashmere goats who roam free across the Himalaya Hills. Artisans in Nepal have been producing the finest-grade cashmere products for thousands of years and I am delighted to be working with a small supplier based in Kathmandu to bring to you the finest cashmere ponchos and scarves in beautiful colours personally chosen by me.

Each purchase supports community artisans in every stage of production, from the combing of the goat hair, weaving, finishing, and dying the finished product. The production of cashmere in Nepal is predominantly female led and, as a traditional cashmere artisan, women can engage in high value work without being forced to leave their families to find work in the city.
